Kaprys was barking several times during the night. When we woke up, we noticed there was another car parked next to us. It was for sure the reason of barking. Kaprys and ache in the hip while lying on the side, were the only things waking me up. We got up at 5:30 and drove off without any delay. The day was slowly starting revealing abysses and nearly 360 degrees curves. We passed through many cars parked on the side, so we were not the only one.
In the morning, at 2300 m. above sea level, was very cold and we decided to stop somewhere else for the breakfast. We saw picturesque Swiss towns. They looked exactly how we imagined them. Nice houses with decorations on the walls situated in the valleys. We were driving towards Monaco through plenty aqueducts and tunnels.
In one of the tunnels, we noticed the flash. Jurek was driving about 90km/h. The limit was 80. We aren’t sure was it photo radar or something else. But we will know soon. And if it was radar, then it may be that our trip won’t be cheap at all.
We left Switzerland in the rain. Italy welcomed us with higher temperature and… free shower! Normally we do not appreciate a gift of running, warm water. We used free WiFi as well, unfortunately, it didn’t give me the access to my website, that is why my posts have to wait.
Refreshed we moved forward. The motorway along the seaside is going through many tunnels. Towns look poor, shabby houses, neglected factories. The condition of the tunnels is not so good as well. Drivers drive chaotically, they don’t stick to the lanes and make sudden maneuvers.
We turned to Sanremo. The road was incredibly winding and we had hardly enough space to pass the other cars. We found parking on the beach. It was 19:00 o’ clock. We had to pay 1 euro for one hour, but from 20:00 till 8:00 in the morning it was for free.
We drank beer in the restaurant. The Internet worked only an hour…After dusk we were walking by the beach, the temperature was 20 degrees.
After dusk we were walking by the beach, the temperature was 20 degrees. Finally, we didn’t have to protect ourselves in the car from the coldness. We wanted to be outside and enjoy the weather, palms, and cactuses. We were really fond of this Italian town, with narrow streets, southern plants, and colorful houses. After the walk, we were so hungry, and we couldn’t use tourist gas bottle in the middle of the city, so we went to the enchanting restaurant to try Italian pizza at 10 pm. It was good, but I wouldn’t say it was the best pizza I’ve ever eaten…
The night in Sanremo was very warm and I slept well. The storm woke us up. But the temperature was still 20. We left the car park at 8 a.m., used the toilet in McDonald’s and because the rain stopped us from using tourist gas bottle, we drank there coffee as well. We were very disappointed with the Internet. Sure, you can have it for free, but you have to have an Italian, French, Spanish or German telephone number. Moreover, in the other McDonald’s in Italy, there was no WiFi at all!
Unexpectedly we crossed French border, and soon after we were in Monaco. It is very visible, that this is a rich country. Skyscrapers, landscaped gardens, villas, yachts and of course the cars! Aston Martin, Maserati, Porsche or Ferrari and many beautiful historic cars as Rolls-Royce or Alfa Romeo.
It wasn’t so easy to maneuver amongst a labyrinth of narrow streets. By mistake, we entered private villas area and nice policeman explained us, that we should go back. 😀 Good, we didn’t get the other fine!
